Terms of service
Last updated 7 August 2026
These terms cover how Maven works for both creators and the businesses funding campaigns. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. Who can use Maven
You must be at least 18 years old to hold a Maven account, or 16 with the written consent of a parent or guardian. You need a Zambian mobile money account or a Zambian bank account to receive payouts.
One person may hold one creator account. Operating multiple accounts to claim the same reward pool more than once will result in all of them being closed and any unpaid balance forfeited.
2. How creators are paid
Each campaign publishes a fixed rate per 1,000 views, a minimum view threshold, and where applicable a cap on what a single post can earn. These are the terms of that campaign and they do not change once it is live.
Earnings are calculated on the view count Maven verifies during review, not the figure you report when submitting. If a platform later removes views as inauthentic, Maven may adjust the amount accordingly.
Approved earnings are added to your Maven balance. You may request a withdrawal once your balance reaches the published minimum. Mobile money withdrawals are ordinarily settled within 48 hours of the request.
Maven does not deduct any commission from creator earnings. The rate shown on a campaign is the rate you are paid.
3. Content rules
Content you submit must be created by you and posted from an account you control. Reposting another creator work, buying views, using bots, or submitting a post that was created before the campaign opened are all grounds for rejection and account closure.
A single post may only be claimed against one campaign. Content must comply with the rules of the platform it is posted on and with Zambian law.
You keep ownership of your content. By submitting it to a campaign you grant the funding brand a non-exclusive licence to reshare it on their own channels for the duration of that campaign and for 12 months afterwards.
4. How businesses are charged
Businesses fund a campaign upfront. The published platform fee is calculated on the total amount funded, and the remainder becomes the reward pool available to creators. The fee covers taxes, the review team, payment processing and the operation of the platform.
Campaigns run by Maven itself are not charged the platform fee.
A campaign only becomes visible in the marketplace once funding has cleared. If a pool is not fully claimed before the closing date, the unclaimed portion is returned to the funding business less the platform fee already charged.
5. Review and rejection
Maven reviews every submission against the campaign brief. We may reject a submission that does not follow the brief, does not meet the minimum view threshold, or that we reasonably believe involves inauthentic engagement.
Rejections come with a written reason. Where the issue is fixable and the campaign still has budget, you may correct the post and resubmit.
6. Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, attempts to defraud a reward pool, or abuses other users. Where an account is closed for fraud, unpaid balances derived from the fraudulent activity are forfeited.
You may close your own account at any time. Any verified balance above the minimum withdrawal will be paid out before closure.
7. Liability
Maven is a marketplace. We are not responsible for the commercial performance of a campaign, for the reach any individual post achieves, or for changes a social platform makes to its own algorithms or policies.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Zambian law.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform develops. Material changes will be communicated to account holders before they take effect. Campaigns already live at that point continue under the terms that applied when they launched.
